Research on a Roll

It was a very good year for research at UNH. Funding for sponsored research set a new record in 1999, surpassing $67 million. The volume of grants and contracts has doubled in the last decade and is not expected to level off any time soon, according to Donald Sundberg, vice president for research and public service. Sundberg attributes the increase to strategic planning, which has led to partnerships with business, industry and government, as well as to an integrated approach to research.
