Rooms and Meals

A new residence hall and dining facility are changing the campus in ways large and small. Both are under construction on sites adjacent to the Memorial Union Building.

The 70,000-square-foot dining facility is on the site of the former Kappa Sigma fraternity and will be connected to the MUB through a short glassed walkway. The facility will seat more than 1,100 people in a main dining room, extended-hours cafˇ and function room. Huddleston Hall will no longer serve student meals; instead it will become a catering and conference facility. The new dining facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2003.

The five-story residence hall faces Huddleston, Hetzel and Fairchild halls. The building has three wings and features a new kind of living arrangement: suites for four to eight people. Each suite has single and double rooms and shared bathing facilities. Most also have a living room. The residence hall will house 359 students when it opens in late November 2002.
