Eugene Savage '58H, '80P, '90P received the Alumni Association's most prestigious award, the Pettee Medal, in September. Savage became dean of admissions in 1967 and also served as vice president for university relations, vice chancellor and, finally, as consultant to the chancellor. "When there's a question that I have that requires a real New Hampshire point of view, one of the top people I call is Gene Savage," said Bonnie Newman, former interim UNH president, in a video played at the ceremony. "Gene elevated the profile and reputation of the university by virtue of the kind of man he is," said former Alumni Association board president Martha Foley Jackson '76, '96G.
