A new portrait of the late Robert Stark '33 was unveiled at the New Hampshire Statehouse in February. Stark served as clerk of the House and was secretary of state from 1941 until his death in 1976. Current Secretary of State Bill Gardner '70, third from left, began his tenure in 1976, which means that a UNH alum has held the office for the past 51 years. Attending the ceremony were, from left, Gov. John Lynch '74, State Sen. Lou D'Allesandro '61, Gardner, and Stark's grandson, Mica Stark '96, who is a special assistant to UNH President Mark Huddleston for government relations and strategic initiatives.
