Campus Currents
With a new year came a new beginning for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. In January, Phase 1 of the Kingsbury Hall renovation and expansion project was completed, and four engineering departments—chemical, civil, electrical and computer, and mechanical—moved into renovated offices and a brand-new 45,000-square-foot wing devoted entirely to labs. Phase II will renovate the remainder of the 55-year-old building and add a second new wing with space for sudent projects and an expanded college library. The $52.98 million price tag is being paid for by a combination of public and private funds, including gifts from alumni, businesses and corporations.
