Employing the innovative fast-paced "spread" offense that he used in Durham, former UNH offensive coordinator and assistant football coach Chip Kelly '90 led his Oregon Ducks team to the national B.C.S. championship in January. (Auburn won 22-19 in the last seconds.) Kelly, at left above with Eddie Robinson Jr., was named coach of the year by six organizations, including the American Football Coaches Association, Pac-10, Walter Camp, Sporting News, the Associated Press and the Football Writers Association of America.
