UNH Football in Playoffs: Despite forcing three turnovers, the 11th-ranked UNH football team, CAA co-champions, lost to Wofford College 23-7 on Dec. 1 in the second round of the NCAA playoffs. The team finished its season 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the CAA conference. World Cup Bound: Women’s lacrosse coach Sarah Albrecht was named to the U.S. Women’s National Team, which will compete in the International Lacrosse World Cup in July. Badges of Honor: UNH led the America East Conference after having 108 athletes named to the fall Academic Honor Roll. Forty-four were named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The teams with the highest GPAs were men’s and women’s cross country, men’s soccer and field hockey. New Partnership: The Northeast Passage Athlete Opportunity Fund, created to support student-athletes with disabilities and disabled veterans, will be funded in part by Operation Hat Trick, which delivers hats to wounded soldiers in Virginia-area hospitals. |
