Susan Goodman '72 '75G '85G '88G, a professor of English at the University of Delaware, has received a Guggenheim fellowship, which will allow her to finish her biography of William Dean Howells.

Brig. Gen. John Dailey '62 was inducted into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame. His awards include a Silver Star, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Bronze Star and two Purple Heart Medals.

Mary C. Morin '01 was crowned Miss New Hampshire in May. She competed in the Miss America Pageant in September. She graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in communications.

Brig. Gen. Kenneth Clark '68 was presented the Distinguished Citizen Award by the Daniel Webster Council, New Hampshire's statewide Boy Scout organization. Clark is the chief of staff of the New Hampshire Air National Guard.

A portrait of two-time presidential press secretary Marlin Fitzwater by Richard Whitney '68 was unveiled at Franklin Pierce College's new Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication in July. Whitney was named one of the top 12 portrait painters in the U.S. by Town and Country magazine.

Sharon Mullen '85 was awarded a $10,000 grant from Balance Oasis, which supports entrepreneurial women. Mullen owns Inventive Parent, an online retail site that sells her own patented Original Car Seat Cozy and other products.

James Barnish '76 was promoted to vice president of accounting for the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. He will oversee the accounting in more than 120 U.S. hotels.

Anderson

Paul Anderson '63 was awarded the 2002 Perkin Medal by the Society of Chemical Industry. The medal is one of the U.S. chemical industry's highest honors. Anderson is vice president of drug discovery at Bristol-Meyers Squibb.
