On Ben's Farm

Polecats

Introduced in 1951, the greased-pole climb was the high point, so to speak, of freshman orientation. After retrieving the beanie at the top, the freshmen could retaliate by gleefully tossing pies at fleeing sophomore Sphinx members. Here, in 1963, freshmen try to beat the record of 38 minutes set in 1962.
