Class Notes Opener Photo

Multitasking on warm spring days has always been a favorite pasttime at UNH. In this May 1972 photo, an unnamed student studies Clothing for Moderns. The book, first printed in 1949, provided sewing and fashion advice. Selected examples: "Although a girl has a pleasing figure and well-chosen clothes, she must wear them in just the right manner to achieve a look of smartness." "With one set of major accessories — hat, shoes, bag and gloves — in the basic wardrobe color, one can branch out an indefinite number of combinations." Do you recognize yourself above?
