The UNH men's hockey team received the 2012 Charlie Holt Team Sportsmanship Award, given annually to the least penalized team in Hockey East.

Freshmen hockey players Casey DeSmith '15 and Trevor van Riemsdyk '15 were named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team in March. They are the first Wildcats to be named to the all-rookie team since Trevor's brother, James van Riemsdyk '11, was selected in the 2007-08 season. James currently plays left wing with the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.

Senior hockey forward Stevie Moses '12 was named a semifinalist for the 60th annual Walter Brown Award, presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England.

Football co-captain Brian McNally '11 signed a free agent contract with the National Football League's Washington Redskins in May. McNally, who graduated in December 2011 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, set UNH's single-season record with 13.5 sacks as a junior in 2010.

Women's basketball team member Denise Beliveau '10, '12G was nominated for the 2012 America East Woman of the Year Award.

Track and field team member Keely Maguire '12 set a UNH record in the 3,000 meters race at the Penn Relays in April.

Field hockey team members Megan Bozek '14, Kellie Joyce '15, Casey Pohlmeyer '14, Carlie Tarbell '15 and Melyssa Woods '13 were selected to a regional High Performance Team and will compete at the Women's National Championships in June.
