NO WALLFLOWER: Not all students were expected to participate in all the exercises. A three-season athlete in high school and at UNH, Grady notes, "I loved all the running and jumping and crawling, even in the snow."

World War II fitness 1943: Scaling an 8-ft. wall is the one part of the men's obstacle course that the girls have not been able to do by themselves. In the very difficult climb to the top of the barrier, each set of four is boosted up by the next group of girls to come along.
