The football team beat Villanova at Homecoming (see Page 7) but lost 46-7 to the same team in the NCAA FCS quarterfinal on Dec. 5. The team has made six straight appearances in the NCAA Division I FCS championship playoffs and has advanced to the quarterfinals five times.

Men's ice hockey was 13-8-4 overall and 12-3-3 in Hockey East in January. On Jan. 16, the 'Cats beat Dartmouth 5-2 in the Verizon Center in Manchester, N.H.

The women's swimming and diving team won six out of seven meets through January. On Jan. 18, Allison Nahin '11 broke a pool record and captured first place in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Field hockey finished its season 12-7 overall and 3-2 in its conference, losing 3-0 to Albany in the America East semifinal.

Men's basketball was 8-11 overall and 3-5 in the conference by the end of January. The women's basketball team was 7-15 overall and 2-7 in its conference.

The No. 1-ranked men's soccer team lost to UMBC 2-1 in the America East semifinals on Nov. 11. The team finished the season 9-7-2 overall and 6-0-1 in its conference. Women's soccer finished the '09 season 4-14-1 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Men's cross-country finished the season with a second-place finish at the America East championships and a third-place finish at the ICAAAA championships. Women's cross-country placed sixth in the ECAC championships.

The women's volleyball team finished the season 13-15 overall and 5-5 in its conference. On Nov. 20, the team lost to Binghamton 3-0 in the America East semifinals.
