UNH mascot Wild E. Cat, who worked out over the summer, shows off his new trim physique, right; his edgier alter ego, Gnarlz, is at left. Truth be told, Wild E. couldn't fit into his uniform as a result of too many visits to Holloway Commons. The turning point reportedly came last year at a cross-country meet when Wild E. challenged the opposing team's mascot to a 30-yard dash and lost by 20 yards—to a sea turtle. According to UNH Athletics, at games this fall he will be "sporting a little less fluff and looking a lot more buff."
