About Theo's Restaurant: The restaurant was established in 1931 at its present location by my father-in-law, Gust Granitsas. I became a partner in 1963 and sole owner in 1971. It originally was named "Coney Island Lunch" and the name was changed to Theo's Restaurant in 1980 to reflect its development into a full scale restaurant. We feature an eclectic menu and are well known for our homemade pies. We are the premier locally owned independent restaurant in the county and a favorite meeting place of the local populace. After burning down and rebuilding the restaurant in 1985 we expanded into catering both on premise and off. We have become the prime caterer in South Eastern Ohio. My sons have taken over the restaurant and have opened up another eatery in Cambridge called "The Forum." Cambridge, Ohio, is located at the intersection of I-77 and I-70. We're right smack in the middle of downtown and if you're in the area, please drop in and say "Hello."

We began selling fried clams, hot dogs, hamburgers, donuts and coffee from a facility built out of renovated chicken coops! In October 1994, the second Sylvan Street Grille opened in Salisbury, MA, located at 195 Elm Street at Route 110. A little smaller with a different feel, this site has demonstrated tremendous growth over the years as well. Present sales for the two sites exceed $9 million.

About Healthy Living Kitchen: At The Healthy Living Kitchen we are your resource to seasonal, whole foods, healthy eating. We provide individuals with awareness, education and the tools to choose a healthy life. Through education and cooking classes we empower you to make dietary and lifestyle changes to enhance your life. Healthy Living Kitchen is unique in that we teach people how to eat and cook healthy, whole foods. We encourage people to buy local produce, grassfed and organic meats, free range, pastured poultry, and all local products. In a sense we are locavores! We are in the process of creating a virtual farmer's market where people can order locally grown and produced products online. This works well for busy families who desire to eat healthy food but do not have the time to visit their local farmer's market. Much like a CSA, after ordering they then come to a drop off point to pick their products up. It's our effort to keep things local as much as possible.

About Martha's Exchange Restaurant and Brewing Co.: Martha's Sweet Shoppe was founded in 1932 by the great aunt of the current owners. In 1944, James Fokas, fresh out of the war, began running his sister's candy shop. He expanded it to include a luncheonette. Between the years of 1984 and 1985, their two sons, Chris '85 and Bill Fokas '82, graduated from UNH. They began to take over and run the family business. In 1987 they expanded yet again to include a restaurant and bar.

Martha's Exchange reopened in December of 1989, and with approximately 150 seats, it started with a bang. By 1993, Martha's was so busy that it needed more seats to accommodate its customers. Another lease ending, Martha's took this opportunity to expand yet again. While expanding the restaurant by another 90 seats, Martha's also made a decision to include a microbrewery; a phenomenon that was just in its infancy. If you look above the brewery tanks, you may also notice a mural painted on the wall. The artist is Steve Barton, who currently has works hanging in the homes of Dolly Parton, Sylvester Stallone, and the White House.

About Thoreau Foods: Thoreau Foods was started by Susan Gallahue Allison '83 and Peter Allison in 2003 with the goal to make the most delicious and nutritious food possible that everybody could enjoy. Having grown up in the grocery business (Gallahue's Supermarkets), Susan saw the evolution of food go from fresh wholesome ingredients to those that were more often than not loaded with refined sugars, trans fat and preservatives. Susan's enthusiasm for and knowledge of natural foods and exercise used to improve one's health and stamina left her asking for more from the food industry. On a backcountry excursion climbing Sierra Nevada Peak 13,337 a few years back, we had plenty of hours to discuss what would be our perfect breakfast. As athletes who like to be outdoors for hours at a time, we knew we needed to develop something that would taste great and provide us with sustained energy. That's when our creativity for blending exotic ingredients and flavors combined with our knowledge of nutrition to create Thoreau Foods and our first product, delicious nutrition packed Muesli. Way more than granola, our USDA Certified Organic Muesli provides a delicious and flavorful complete breakfast with over 2000 mgs of omega 3's, 12 grams of fiber, 9 grams of protein, plentiful antioxidants and a low glycemic index. ... And let's give credit where credit is due. Mom always said, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day". Well, we listened.

About Fogarty's Restaurant: Fogarty's has been a staple of the South Berwick and Rollinsford, N.H., community, bursting belt buckles and picking up after dropped ice cream cones since 1960. Owner Larry Fogarty '83, the grandson of the original owners, doesn't remember the exact date the restaurant opened, but it doesn't matter. "If you get an order of onion rings today," he says, "it's not gonna taste any different from it did in 1970." The reason is because the recipes for the core menu items haven't changed despite the changes to the restaurant over the years.
