Alumni News Job Hunt Help for AlumniWhether you're looking for a new job, hoping to advance in your current career or simply trying to spruce up your résumé, help is available at CareerTools, a new online service offered through the UNH alumni Web site, Wildcat World. CareerTools is a comprehensive job search and career management site available only to UNH alumni and students. Two versions of the site are available, a free version and a premium, for-a-fee version. CareerTools is jointly sponsored by the UNH Alumni Association and the University Advising and Career Center. The free version offers step-by-step advice for finding a job and tips to help channel job-search efforts in the right direction. A "career wizard" walks users through the process, from determining what kind of job to seek to fielding job offers. CareerTools' personal assessments can help pick a career path, and research databases offer information on career fields and specific companies. To help users search for job openings, job banks and networking resources are available. Articles and templates help prepare resumes and cover letters and give an overview of the interview process. And a salary calculator helps determine salaries based on education, experience and job responsibilities. The premium, for-a-fee version adds two comprehensive databases to the services above. Dun & Bradstreet is a database of over 1.2 million U.S. public and private companies that can be searched by more than 25 criteria, including companies whose top officers are UNH alumni. InSite2, a bibliographic database, contains more than 2,100 searchable business periodicals. Users may sign up to be notified by e-mail when a new article on a topic of interest is posted. The for-a-fee version of CareerTools costs $25 for six months of access. To visit CareerTools, sign in or register at http://alumni.unh.edu and then visit http://alumni.unh.edu/career/careertools/. Thank You Each year the UNH Admissions Office is invited to participate in college fairs around the country to share information about the University with prospective students. Unfortunately, the Admissions staff cannot be at all places at all times. Enter Alumni Admissions Volunteers. We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of alumni volunteers (and current UNH parents) who represent the University at college fairs and share their knowledge of UNH with prospective students. These volunteers provide valuable support to the Admissions Office's efforts and, most importantly, they share their enthusiasm for UNH with future Wildcats. The Admissions Office wishes to thank the following volunteers for their time, energy and support at events during the 2002-2003 school year:
